Ive been getting some reports from friends coming in of some springs in PA Inlet now. They are being caught from the top end of the closure near Nahmint all the way to Polly pt at the moment. The fish are not yet there in large numbers but most anglers who are targeting them are getting atleast 1 per day. The fish are being caught anywhere from 25 - 125ft down. Anchovy seems to be the best bet too.

Frankly, it sucks. DFO unleashed both the FN's gillnetters and seiners yet again as of last night. FN hit was 7,000, gillnetters go this eve. Suspect the Derby will be a bust this year as there is but very few in the Sound and the offshore approach lanes.

Sad to relay that, but it is simply the way it is done by The Dino over here...

salmonfest.ca - there is basically nothing on it and they decided not to use our live leaderboard derby software this year. No online leaderboard, sorry.

This thread is noticeably dead. Any of you folks from Port Alberni out there? Can you offer an update on the fishing at this time? I was told by a passerby yesterday that ''it's hot'' now. Just wanting to know if it's true.

Thanks,

I fished the weekend in Macktush Bay, Hocking Point and Bells Bay with no luck. Moved Sunday morning to the Sproat Narrows and had one on, but never saw it. Starting to be fish caught all the way from Lonetree to Sawmill Bay, most of the action is on the west side. Some nice fish in the mid 20s. This weekend should really see the fishing pick up.

See you out there.

Cheers from the Crew of Stress Medicine.

Fishing is really picking up in the inlet. Over the weekend a few people I know got easy limits in the 15-30lb range.
