Was out around Five Fingers a couple weeks ago and didn't get anything. Wasn't out very long because it started to snow. But did clean up on crab and prawns. I plan on going out this weekend around Five Finger again, will report back if i get anything.

was out on wednesday at the fingers, but wasn't out long. wind came up fast. was hearing lots on the sounder. but then again my elite 5 has some issues, anytime i get into 350 feet of water registers only 80 feet deep

Maybe it's something to do with your settings,Andiez.

I find on my sounder (it isn't the Elite 5, it's the Elite 4) that in deeper water the 80hz setting is better than the 200hz).

And if I leave it on ''auto'' it isn't half as good as when I go ''manual''

There's a couple of others that affect it too. In the menu they give you choices of ''fresh'', deep'', ''fast'' etc.etc. I use the ''deep'' setting all the time.

And the ''surface clutter'' control on mine is always ''off'' as that can mess it up.

I keep the ''sensitivity'' setting around 86 per cent for salt.

Any higher than that it's too sensitive.

I haven't had any luck fishing was out today tried between 200 and 275 marked fish but nothing hitting. Lots of boats out today. I did get some nice size prawns.

Three rods . That would be very challenging. Sound like what Scouse says , Mayhem

You might want to check the regs on fishing 3 rods while solo.

I haven't looked to make sure, but I think you're only legal to have two per angler.

till recently i thought the same thing, then someone said you could use more than 2 rods... looked it up and ''there is no limit to the number of fishing rods a license angler may use in tidal waters''
exact words from the sport fishing guide

I thought it was if you are by yourself and you are licensed you can use as many rods as you can handle.

If everyone on the boat has a license....ditto.

if there is a person on board that doesn't have a license...then it's one rod per person (not including the person that doesn't).....
