It never to late to try new techniques. I find I am sometimes to comfortable in my old ways. In this case using roe, roe bags, artificial soft egg imitation, corkies, and Ghost shrimps

In the last four year it been a fantastic learning experience . In this technique its the beads. How successful they were for the Sockeye, Coho, Spring salmon.

It going to be hard in the beginning to put away the roe bag and the Ghost shrimp but come November 15 it will be bead against the famous steelhead.

WHAT ARE YOU THOUGHTS MEMBERS

Pretty much everywhere in a variety of colours and sizes. They'll out fish roe, shrimp or any other guts in most cases.drool

With a tooth pic, peg them about 1 - 1 1/2 from the hook. Too far a gap increases the chances of fatally foul hooking fish.

Lower Cowichan opens up Nov.15, if that's what your referring to? It will probably open sooner since there has been excellent returns this Fall. You'll have to watch the in season regulations on the Provincial regulations website. Cowichan is one of the latest runs of coho.

Christmas has come early. Steelybeads has sent another batch of beads for steelhead. They have a new peg system. I can peg about three beads with one flip stop and little waster.
Stay tune for the Steelhead journal 2016
