It looks like it is going to be another decent winter fish in the areas around Nanaimo - Gabriola. Most boats going out are getting more than shakers, loads in the 60cm and now a few in the 65 to 70cm. Usually it best to fish right on the bottom at this time of the year, but we're finding some nice one up off the bottom. Anchovies seem to work best, but the green and white hoochies are working great along with green glow spoons. The hots spots are Hudson Rock and the Fingers, and the triangle in 250'. Loads of wildlife to see. I never seen so many seal lions. We saw 50 plus on a log boom and around 35 at the entrance to Silva Bay.
Fog has held us off the water for a few days.
