Chinook Salmon to 12 lbs
130 to 180
Not Targeted: Chum Salmon, Coho Salmon, Lingcod, Pink Salmon, Rockfish, Sockeye Salmon
Between the rain and the winds we haven't been out much in January. But the 3 times out have been productive. Lots of feed all over Grande to Whalebone but not many chinooks. As for Thrasher when you find a good vein of salmon feeding your bond to get into multiple hits. Been boating 10 to 12 Chinook per trip with 3 to 4 keepers, not as large as the summer but very active. We are finding everything at the bottom. The hot spoon is 3.5 Pink Sink and of course anchovies.
Prawning is still pretty good with them getting larger.
If anyone is interested in a very cool tide calendar. We have them for $10 with the proceeds going to the local food banks. See photo. If you want one, contact me and I will get one to you. If your in Nanaimo I could have some at Harbour Chandler.
Keep dry and get out.
