SPECIES RATING BEST TIDE BEST TIME OF DAY BEST DEPTHS(ft)
Chinook Salmon to 15 lbs GOOD Ebb Mid Afternoon 130 to 150
Coho Salmon to 7 lbs GOOD Slack N/A 120 to 150
Not Targeted: Chum Salmon, Lingcod, Pink Salmon, Rockfish, Sockeye Salmon
After a few weeks of huge herring balls and not many Springs, the herring have moved off shore and the salmon are starting to hit the lures. Once you find a concentration of salmon it is quite active. We could fish for 2-3 hours with nothing, find the hot spot and all lines hit. We had a few good hits that took some line and good fights, which is fantastic for this time of the year. The 3.5'' Killy McGee and Evil eye are the hot spoons and green glow teaser heads. Fishing friends in the Nanaimo area are getting a load of Cohos, hopes to be a great season when they open in June.
Just waiting for the run to start in a few weeks in the deep.

It time to wet some gear.
